In order to comply with Nevada Law, when we submit our Notice of Intent to Homeschool, we also have to submit an educational plan.  So, with a great deal of information taken from Rebecca Rupp’s Home Learning Year by Year, I’ve completed the plans for the boys.  I know this is much more detail than the school district requires, but this also serves as a great guide for me.  Anyway, I thought I’d post them, in case anyone was interested.

I also went to Barnes and Noble today and ordered Rebecca’s book.  Should be in next week.  I’m pretty excited.  Thank you to Erin for finding it for me!  What a blessing this book has turned out to be!

No problem, I think its a must have. It just really helps you have an idea of what you should cover, but just an outline. Its sad, the more I want to homeschool, the more news reports I have seen of teachers verbally abusing little kids in class across our nation. I just don’t want to deal with it, and I’m willing to put my all in this. Plus, its so exciting!! To share the learning experience with your loved ones, have your own schedule. I’ve read from other homeschoolers that when they finish their studies each day at noon, they are done for the day. How awesome to have more time to play, bond, and relax. THat is so appealing to me. Yet, I know that its more work on my part to keep up the schooling, but there is so much help, so many homeschoolers today. What a great time to start.
Another fun book for science projects at home:
101 great science experiments by Neil Ardley- tons of good stuff. The DK books are awesome for school, big color pictures, extremely educational, I love them. Keep posting your adventures!:)
